The VDI3 codes the specific horizontal location of the damage. Note that there are different codes for side and front/rear end collisions and they depend from the code used in VDI2. Some codes (e. g. 20 left quarter front) are fixed to a special part of the car. Remark: The coded damage area is result of the direct contact to the collision partner. Deformations out of the primary impact area are not coded here. This variable is not coded for two-wheelers (code 0 has to be filled in the variable).
