The principal direction of force is coded that caused the damage on the vehicle according to CDC 1 & 2. This direction is equal to the direction of the change of momentum of the impact analysis. The coding is conducted according the oclock direction in 30 degree steps whereas the 12 oclock direction represents a force direction front to rear, 3 oclock from right, 9 oclock from left and 6 oclock from rear end. This variable correlates with the impulse angle (IMP).
This parameter has to be coded for two-wheelers since 2014. Older cases have been recoded by routines.
From 2019, it will be possible to specify the forces acting on the truck train (Jack Knifing, fith-wheel (damage to the fith wheel plate)). Here 13 is coded.
